It’s everybody’s business to reveal Jesus. A new revelation of Jesus in our lives can accomplish what Christianity has not achieved in two thousand years: the world-wide spiritual renaissance that we need in order to deal with planetary problems. To rise to present challenges, we need Jesus. The process of revealing him begins with individuals, and its power for good increases as more people join in. But the different groups of those who claim to follow Jesus lack spiritual unity. Jesus prayed for us to be one, but we are not united in love and service.
We need an upgrade. We could all benefit from a clearer revelation of Jesus—let’s pray for it, ask him for it as friend to Friend. We could all benefit from a fuller understanding of his saving message. Let’s seek for it. As we pray and seek and love, we open ourselves to the discovery of the unity in Jesus’ life and teachings. His life reveals responses to extremely different situations, and his teachings are many-sided. The unity in his life and teachings has the power to liberate spiritual unity among his followers. And that unity has the power to bring about a world-wide spiritual awakening.
But we can’t reveal Jesus to one another until Jesus reveals himself to us. We prepare ourselves for that gift by developing a relationship of love and friendship. this is not a once-and-for-all event. It’s ongoing. Our role is to pray, to ask him to reveal himself to us more. And then to live so that he can reveal himself through us.
