- Take an intellectual belief, add wholeheartedness, and it becomes living faith.
- Go back to square one. You hear about the universal family, and you want to be a part of it. You refresh the beginner’s attitude–the faith, trust, and dependence of a little child. You look to God as your Father or Parent. You feel his acceptance and assurance. Then, as a child normally does, you grow up to be like the parent. God is love. As you receive the divine affection, you are filled with joy, and you stay in relationship . . . and return love to him. Then you look around and: here’s a neighbor. This must be a brother or sister! Let me express this love that comes from the spirit of God, the center of my being, to this sibling. In this way, the truth of the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man (express it in the way that fits your personal discovery of these spiritual realities) becomes alive in you.
- A philosophical path.
Health, sanity, and happiness are integrations of truth, beauty, and goodness as they are blended in human experience. Such levels of efficient living come about through the unification of energy systems, mind systems, and spirit systems.
Systems of ideas in the mind need to be unified, by spirit systems, which are already unified. When divine spirit acts, the mind is unified with the energy of love and service.
- 4. You can know the truth. You can live the truth. I had struggled to do that, and just this morning, on my way to the kitchen, I accepted something more. You can be the truth. That thought precipitated what was for me an unprecedented liberation.
- 5. When you are trying to be some truth and it’s just not happening, relax. Trust that truth is liberating. Jesus: You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Accept where you are. Let God be God. Liberation takes times, and we can’t force growth. By accepting and welcoming divine presence, we receive . . . and be.
